Grievance redressal

Something went wrong? Here is how to complain, and how to escalate.

Tell us first and we will try to put it right. If the complaint is about an insurer’s decision, or we cannot resolve it, the routes below take it further. Each of them is free.

Four steps, in order

  1. Tell Beema1Write or call our grievance team with what happened and any policy or claim number. You will be given a reference number, and we will respond to you.
  2. Complain to the insurerA complaint about a policy, a premium or a claim decision goes to the insurer’s grievance redressal officer, whose details are in your policy documents. Keep the reference they give you.
  3. IRDAI’s Bima BharosaIf the insurer does not resolve it, or you are not satisfied with its reply, register the complaint on IRDAI’s Bima Bharosa portal, call 155255 or 1800 4254 732 (toll-free), or email [email protected].
  4. The Insurance OmbudsmanIf the insurer rejects your complaint, does not reply within 30 days, or you are not satisfied with its reply, you may approach the Insurance Ombudsman, free of charge, within one year of the insurer’s reply, subject to the Ombudsman’s rules.

For a mutual fund complaint

Raise it with G2P Wealth or the fund house first. If it is not resolved, you can complain to SEBI through SCORES, and use the Smart ODR portal for online dispute resolution.

IRDAI has warned about fake websites imitating Bima Bharosa. Use only bimabharosa.irdai.gov.in, and never share an OTP or a password with anybody who calls about a complaint.
