A renewal is the moment to check your cover still fits — and the moment a lapse costs most. Tell us which policy and when it expires, and an advisor will call before it does.
In short
Keep your no-claim bonus and the waiting periods you have already served.
Review the sum insured, the members and the add-ons while you can still change them.
A call before the due date, in English, Bengali or Hindi.
Before you renew
What a renewal decides, policy by policy.
Health insurance
Renew before the due date. Most policies allow a short grace period to keep continuity, but a claim during it may not be covered — check your wording.
Review the sum insured against today’s hospital costs, and add or remove members.
Thinking of changing insurer? Portability carries eligible waiting-period credits across. Apply 30 to 60 days before renewal.
Motor insurance
There is no grace period: cover ends on the expiry date, and driving uninsured is an offence.
Check the insured declared value and the add-ons you still need.
After a lapse an inspection is usually required, and the no-claim bonus is lost once the gap passes 90 days.
Life insurance
Premiums carry a grace period of thirty days, or fifteen for monthly payment. Cover stops if the premium is still unpaid after it.
A lapsed policy can usually be revived within the period the policy allows, subject to arrears and health checks.
Check that the nomination is still right.
